Connect product packaging to an updatable digital catalogue

Put an editable QR link on packaging or a printed catalogue so customers can reach current product information. Share a mobile-friendly page or PDF flipbook, and keep the link stable when the destination changes.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Choose the customer task: browsing a catalogue, reading instructions or opening a support page.
  2. Create a clearly named link and add its QR code to the packaging design. Keep the code away from folds, curved edges and low-contrast backgrounds.
  3. Test a production sample under ordinary lighting and at the distance a customer will scan it.
  4. Update the destination when information changes, then retest the printed code.

Keep information useful after the sale

Instructions, care guidance and support information can be more helpful than sending every scan to a homepage. Give the destination a clear next step and check that old products still receive appropriate information.

Separate product families when necessary

Use separate links for distinct product ranges or distribution channels when reporting needs that level of detail. A shared link gives a combined view and cannot identify a particular physical package.

Know the scope

This workflow connects packaging to web content. It does not make Share to Reach a GS1 Digital Link resolver, product authentication system or inventory platform. Keep existing compliance and supply-chain systems for those jobs.

Can a QR code on packaging point to a new catalogue later?

Yes. If it uses your editable short link, update the link’s destination or replace the existing flipbook PDF. The original printed QR code can continue to work.
