# Connect Link and QR Analytics to Excel, Power BI and Looker Studio

Active paid subscribers can pull their own retained Share to Reach reporting data through a read-only API. Use the supplied Power Query or Google Sheets templates, fetch every page and connect the resulting tables to your reporting tool. A key does not grant access to another workspace.

## Choose the reporting question first

Start with a question a report can answer: which campaign brought the most visits, which printed placement was scanned, or how readers used a brochure. Select the datasets for that question instead of importing everything into a giant table.

A campaign report might join links, campaigns and events. A publication report might join flipbooks and flipbook_events. Keep the original IDs in your model. Similar link titles are useful for people, but an ID is a safer join key.

## Create a connection key

Open profile Settings and the Reporting API section. An active paid subscription is required; a single-link purchase or extra link credit does not provide API access. Give the key a recognisable connection name and select its expiry. Save it when it is shown once.

Send the key in the Authorization: Bearer header. Do not put it into a public URL, a screenshot or a shared report. Anyone with the key can read the allowed workspace data. Revoke unused keys and arrange renewal before scheduled refreshes depend on an expired key.

## Use the Excel or Power BI template

Download the Excel / Power BI template from Settings or the public integration guide. Create the S2RApiKey text parameter, then paste the supplied query into Power Query’s Advanced Editor and choose a dataset. The template sends the authentication header and follows pagination.

Treat an editable workbook or PBIX file as private: a parameter is not a credential vault. Publishing a Power BI model requires the service’s own data-source and refresh settings. The provided template does not automatically configure scheduled refresh or an organisation’s credential-aware gateway.

## Fetch every page, then apply types

A JSON response includes data, fields and next_cursor. Continue until next_cursor is null. Reading only the first response can silently omit older rows. CSV exports also expose pagination headers, so a single CSV request is not necessarily the complete dataset.

Convert time fields into consistent date/time types and numeric fields into numbers. Expand JSON string columns only where you need them. For campaign analysis, join events.link_id to links.id. For reading behaviour, join flipbook_events.book_id to flipbooks.id. Inspect the integration guide’s dataset fields before building measures.

## Connect Looker Studio through Google Sheets

Use the supplied Google Sheets importer to pull the datasets into a private spreadsheet, then use that spreadsheet as a Looker Studio data source. The importer requires configuration; the platform does not arrive connected to your Google account.

Control access to the spreadsheet as well as the final report. A dashboard that hides its data source may still expose information through an overly broad sharing setting. Store the API key in the importer’s private configuration and review access with your own organisation’s policies.

## Keep the numbers honest

A link click or QR scan is not a completed purchase. Join downstream outcomes only when you have a valid attribution method and compatible campaign labels. Explain the reporting window, timezone and duplicate handling so a client understands what a number means.

The API covers retained reporting history without a default date cutoff. It is a reporting feed, not a frozen backup or a deletion stream. Refresh mutable datasets fully when appropriate; for new event windows, deduplicate by event ID. Stop on revoked-key or inactive-subscription errors rather than treating an empty refresh as zero activity.

## Questions
### Does the API include QR scans?
Yes. QR activity is included in event records with the QR channel and in daily totals. Use those fields to distinguish scans from other link visits.

### Does an extra ₹49 link purchase include the API?
No. Reporting API eligibility requires an active paid subscription. Check Settings for your current access.
